SMARTCOMPANY

SmartCompany was previously developed on a proprietary Microsoft Dot Net system. A decision was made to shift to an open source solution primarily in order to obtain more flexibility regarding changes to the web site layout which proved to be very complex and slow in a Dot Net system.

Valegro performed the full systems migration including the redesign of the website using the open source Joomla Content Management System (Joomla version 1.5.x).

Using data tools, SQL scripts and Joomla components such as JoomSef, MyBlog and Community Builder the entire website was migrated and redesigned and implemented in record time.

SmartCompany staff still marvel at the enormous sense of achievement experienced when major changes can be made to the layout of their new website with the minimum amount of fuss.

Valegro continues to assist SmartCompany with enhancements to their online advertising needs, writing special code snippets to handle and manage the creative advertising endeavours on the SmartCompany website.
